The sneakers are not made by Trump or his businesses. Instead, Trump’s company, CIC Ventures LLC, licensed his name to 45Footwear LLC. This company was registered by Andrew Pierce, an asset-protection consultant, in Wyoming.

The state’s laws allow quick and anonymous registration of LLCs. Used by shady businesses. This does not mean 45Footwear LLC is a shady business. Just that it’s not transparent.

How do I wear golden sneakers?

How can you wear these golden sneakers? Here are five ways:

  • Avoid slim-fit chinos and dress shirts. The sneakers will overshadow this look.
  • Think of 1980s B-Boys. Gold-striped navy tracksuits, bucket hats, big gold chains, and thick glasses.
  • Look to 1970s Rock Icons. Rick James wore a bandana, leopard-striped jacket, and leather pants. Elton John wore gold platform boots with a gold jacket and rhinestone sunglasses in the movie Rocketman.
